Overview

The Master’s in Sport Business was designed with input from over 50 industry professionals to prepare you for career growth in sport business roles such as sales, fundraising & development, facility & event management, social media & digital communication, marketing, partnerships & activation, and leadership. This program is similar to an MBA, but specifically focused on the development of these skills in the sport business field in all areas: professional sports, collegiate & high school athletics; youth & community-based sports; brands & agencies and Esports.

Program Design and Required Courses

The Master of Science in Sport Business is designed in a unique accelerated format which enables students to complete the entire program in as little as 12 months, through a variety of delivery options.

The program consists of 30 required credits (9 classes and a final project). The 9 traditional classes are delivered as 3-credit courses in intensive seven-week modules. Our Master’s in Sport Business is available online, on campus, as well as a hybrid:

  • If you are taking the course on campus and are not able to attend one of the classes, you can tune in virtually during class time, or watch it later at your convenience.
  • If you prefer to work through the course at your own pace, you can watch the recordings and complete the assignments.

All courses are highly interactive taught by faculty with extensive sport industry experience.  The final course, SB 600, offers flexibility to each student with one of 3 options: Master’s Thesis, Internship-style immersion experience or consulting project with an external partner.

Students may enter the program at five different times throughout the academic year: Fall Mini Term 1, Fall Mini Term 2, Spring Mini Term1, Spring Mini Term 2, or the Summer Term.
