Academic Minors

Undergraduate Program Offerings

An academic minor is a group of specified courses within an area of study which either enhances and/or complements an acquired body of knowledge within a major discipline or in a related or complementary discipline.  Such a combined approach makes it possible for students to acquire intellectual versatility as well as an increased marketability which proves to be a decided advantage in today’s rapidly changing work environment.  A student interested in pursuing an academic minor should consult with his/her academic advisor.

The number of credits required for a minor must be 18 or more. Course requirements for an academic minor are determined by the sponsoring Division. It is also understood that any prerequisites for designated courses in an academic minor must be successfully completed before proceeding with required course work.

All requirements for any academic minor must be completed with a grade of “C” or better; and a minimum of 50% of all required credits must be earned at Neumann University. Awarding of any minor also requires a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 and the approval of the respective Division Dean. Academic minors cannot be pursued independent of an academic major. Minors are available only in the Monday through Friday Day Schedule and are not available in any evening major or in any of the accelerated baccalaureate degree programs that are offered through the Division of Continuing Adult and Professional Studies. The academic minors which are available at Neumann University are listed below.
