SW 210 Introduction to Culturally Grounded Social Work Practice

3 credits

This course introduces the concept of culturally grounded social work practice across all levels of intervention. The influence of social and structural factors is critically examined in relation to the client and the social worker. Concepts and theories related to historical and current intergroup dynamics are addressed through the lens of social work and Franciscan values, emphasizing social justice and the dignity and worth of all people.

Prerequisite(s): SW 100  or permission of instructor
