PHIL 212 Logic for Life and Career Readiness3 Credits
This course is designed to take students on a journey through the process of critical thinking. A special emphasis will be placed on how critical thinking skills are applicable to your major and future career. Students will study why critical thought matters as well as obstacles to thinking critically. Students will learn to identify and evaluate arguments as well as study deductive and inductive reasoning. An examination of logical fallacies as well as a study of how to approach clashing views when it comes to experts, talking heads, and advertisements will be included within the course. Finally, students will be exposed to the Catholic intellectual tradition by way of an examination of arguments for the existence of God and the immortality of the soul.
Prerequisite(s): PHIL 102 and THEO 104 and completed 55 credits.
