ENG 340 European Literary Masterpieces

Literary masterpieces from the British Isles and the European continent which highlight the search for meaning in human life are analyzed in this course. Essential modern British writers such as Joyce, Woolf, and Yeats are studied. Important continental writers such as Goethe, Dostoevsky, Flaubert, Colette, and Calvino are also examined in translation.
