Special Education Teacher Certification

An option for a teacher who possesses a teaching certificate is to obtain a Special Education Teacher Certification (N–8): 24 Credits. This certification option includes course work in the following content areas:

Requirements:
Baccalaureate degree and current Teacher Certification. EDU 525 : Introduction to Exceptionalities (or an appropriate equivalent of an Introduction to Special Education course). Note:
In addition to successfully completing these courses, students are also required to pass the related PDE required examination. Students pursuing the Special Education Certification option are also required to obtain and present proof of a current Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and a Pennsylvania Criminal Background Clearance. Candidates are to provide admissions a copy of the current teaching certificate.
