(Completion of the BS-HS degree does not guarantee admission to the MS-ATR)

Year 1: BS-HS Spring Semester (17 Credits)


Year 1: BS-HS Summer Semester (12 Credits)


  • Language 101 3 Credits
  • Language 102 3 Credits
  • Fine Arts Core 3 Credits
  • General Elective 3 Credits

Year 2: BS-HS Summer Semester (11 Credits)


  • Physics with Lab 4 Credits
  • General Electives 7 Credits

End of Year 3: BS Health Science Awarded - 120 credits complete


The student must apply for admission and submit all requirements to the MS-ATR Program upon completion of the BS-Health Science degree. Completion of the BS degree does not guarantee admission into the MS-ATR program. A full listing of the Admission Criteria for the MS-ATR is available in the Graduate Catalog. Pending acceptance to the MS-ATR, the suggested 2 year plan of study is outlined below.

Year 4: MS-ATR Summer Session (6 Credits)


  • ATR 500 Introduction to Athletic Training   3 Credits
  • ATR 505 Functional Anatomy   3 Credits

Year 4: MS-ATR Fall Semester (11 Credits)


  • ATR 530 Therapeutic Modalities  3 credits
  • ATR 540 Therapeutic Exercise I  3 credits
  • ATR 550 Lower Extremity Assessment  3 credits
  • ATR 598 Practicum 1  2 credits

Year 4: MS-ATR: Spring Semester (9 Credits)


  • ATR 545 Therapeutic Exercise II  3 credits
  • ATR 560 Upper Extremity Assessment  3 credits
  • ATR 680 Research I  1 credit
  • ATR 599 Practicum 2  2 credits

Year 5: MS-ATR Fall Semester (10 Credits)


  • ATR 570 Pharmacology and Personal Health  3 credits
  • ATR 675 Administration and Professional Prep 3 credits
