Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Acute Care Post-Master’s Certificate

The post-master’s certificate as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner is designed for master’s prepared nurses, seeking specialization as an Adult-gerontology Nurse Practitioner in Acute Care. The certificate program builds on previous learning, integrating the knowledge and skills germane to the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who will provide holistic, patient-centered acute and critical care to individuals across the adult age spectrum from adolescence to older adults. The course of study for the post-master’s students, with 32 credits of the Adult-Gerontology Acute Nurse Practitioner core and specialty courses, has the same learning outcomes as the Master of Science, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner track.

All current, practicing nurse practitioners will have gap analysis completed by the Program Director of Graduate Nursing to determine the student’s individual plan of study.

In addition, all entering post-master’s NP certificate students must show evidence of having completed three (3) separate, comprehensive graduate level courses in advanced pathophysiology, advanced health assessment, and advanced pharmacology. Post-master’s NP certificate students who have completed advanced pharmacology greater than 5 years prior to beginning coursework at Neumann University will be required to completeNUR 607  , as part of the Certificate curriculum.
