122 Credits required for Innovation in Art Management Degree
The Innovation in Art Management major offers students who aspire to a business career based in the arts, the skills and competencies needed to create and sustain a thriving art organization. Strong art-based organizations have dedicated leadership - leaders who have as passion for art that is matched by their business acumen.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the Major in Innovation in Art Management the graduate will:
- Recognize and apply Franciscan Values (Neumann’s RISES) and moral reasoning in the areas of the arts and business.
- Demonstrate developing business acumen as it relates to developing and maintaining thriving arts organizations.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills through oral and written techniques.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in an environment with diverse groups of people and have a global perspective through classroom activities, a service-learning experience, and internships that support experiential learning.
- Use critical thinking to analyze problems or situations based on fundamental principles in the business of the arts.
- Articulate and demonstrate the fundamental aesthetic principles underlying the performing arts.
Progression Criteria/Degree Requirements
Progression in the major leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree requires students to:
- Maintain a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA.
- Achieve a grade of “C” or higher for all general business, major, and NU core requirements specific to the management major.
- Complete a minimum of 122 credits.
School Repeat Policy
- General business, major, and NU core requirements specific to Innovation in Art Management may only be repeated once. Students must have written permission from the Dean of the School of Business to take a course for the third time.
- In total, only three different general business, major, or NU core requirements specific to major may be repeated.
- Failure to earn a grade of “C” or better for general business, major, or NU core requirements specific to Innovation in Art Management may result in dismissal from the School.
