Program Overview

Neumann University’s Cybersecurity program provides advanced training in applying and managing cybersecurity and information assurance mechanisms to prepare students for advanced careers in one of the fastest-growing fields. The program offers students courses in building secure systems, cloud-based security, incident response, advanced penetration testing, governance, risk and compliance, and international terrorism and cyber warfare. Students will learn to apply the latest red and blue team techniques taught by certified.

  • Fully online.
  • Thirty credit hours / may be completed in 21 months.
  • Work toward the Security+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or Certified Information Security Manager certifications.
  • Begin at the start of any semester.
  • Students learn remotely using our state-of-the-art lab on the latest switches, firewalls, and servers.
  • Direct hands-on experience using innovative cyber lab technologies is integrated throughout the program.

Learning Outcomes

The Cybersecurity program will equip qualified, ambitious students with the fundamentals, practical and soft skills required to excel in any technical or management cybersecurity position. Students will:

  • Understand in detail the principles and foundations required to build secure systems.
  • Develop the complex abilities required to identify, counter and recover threats to hosts and networks using recognized standards.
  • Build the
  • Develop advanced skills using the same tools that hackers use to attack and administrators use to protect corporate infrastructures.
  • Develop the expertise required to implement corporate governance, including operational risk and international compliance strategies.
  • Acquire the requisite skills to address a series of live real-world cyber-attacks using capture the flag exercises.
  • Pursue two different tracks: Managing Information Systems Security or Cyber System Engineering.

The MS in Cybersecurity program offers three different tracks for students: Managing Information Systems Security, Cyber System Engineering and Forensics Investigator. All tracks require 30 units of coursework, comprised of 18 units of the Foundational Core and 12 units in each specialization.
