CBR 204 Social, Legal, and Ethical Issues in Computing

3 Credits

This course explores  a variety of ethical and legal issues facing todays computing environments. Existing and future legal infrastructures such as the Digital Millennium Copyright Act,  the Telecommunications Decency Act, the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) and emerging technologies for management of digital rights will be explored.  In addition, students will learn the impact criminal activities such as computer fraud and abuse, desktop forgery, embezzlement, child pornography, computer trespass, and computer piracy have on individuals and corporations.
