ATR 250 Prevention/Assessment of the Lower Extremity

3 Credits

In this demanding course, the student gains a working knowledge of the techniques that are involved in preparing athletes for competition and evaluating athletes with medical conditions. The goals of the class are to provide the student with an up-to-date understanding of (1) proper taping, wrapping, bandaging, and bracing techniques and (2) the proper evaluation of the lower extremity. Other topics of study include, but are not limited to, specific conditions related to the lower extremity, conditioning, nutritional considerations, environmental considerations, psychology of athletes, and drugs.

Prerequisite(s): ATR 100 , ATR 189 , ATR 200 , ATR 220 , and BIO 205 /BIO 215  .
