CBR 302 Advanced Digital Forensics

3 Credits

Forensic techniques are implemented to capture and preserve evidence whenever a crime scene is digital or includes electronic devices. This evidence comes from file systems, the operating system, and other sources. Only through digital forensics can a chain of custody be created that provides enough integrity for the evidence to be used by law enforcement in court proceedings. Students in this advanced class will learn to investigate a possible crime using advanced techniques to evaluate evidence. This course is designed for students interested in computer forensics to get a deeper taste of the real world of digital forensics examination.
