NUR 345 Home Care Vistas

The aging of the population, the rising levels of
chronic illness, shifts from acute care settings
to home, and the closing of hospitals nationally,
have generated new and constantly evolving career
opportunities for talented nursing clinicians to
move beyond the confines of traditional
hospital-based employment to more autonomous
practice roles in Home Health Care. ?Although the
demand for Home Health Care services is projected
to exponentially increase for the foreseeable
future, there is little opportunity in core
nursing curricula to expose students to this
expanding area of nursing practice. 

The course will introduce students to the vast
employment opportunities, career potential,
intrinsic rewards, and the needed
skills/attributes associated with this rapidly
growing area of nursing practice.

Prerequisite(s): NUR 206 , NUR 216  and SCI 215
