CDM 204 Being Seen: Depictions of People in Media

This course explores the representations of racial and other (gender, age, class, sexual orientation, ethnicity, people with disabilities) groups in media. In the process, we will unpack why such depictions matter, how they are constructed, and whether they reflect reality. Students will learn to critically examine media images and conduct their own analyses.
