CJ 203 Criminal Law and Procedure

3 Credits

This course studies statutory and common law classifications of offenses, laws of arrest, and constitutional concepts in legal proceedings. In addition, it explains the role of the judiciary, its historical background, and its development in the United States. Due process of law and the judicial procedure through which an arrested offender enters the criminal justice system are stressed. Problems of change and the reform of the criminal justice process are also discussed.
