Combining your Criminal Justice degree with a Master’s in Forensic Accounting and Fraud Detection allows you to couple your accounting knowledge with investigative skills, using this unique combination in litigation support and investigative accounting settings. Forensic Accountants may be employed by public accounting firms’ forensic accounting divisions, by firms specializing in risk consulting and forensic accounting services, or by lawyers, law enforcement agencies, insurance companies, government organizations, or financial institutions. Due to society’s heightened awareness and growing intolerance of fraudulent activity, demand for forensic accountants is rapidly increasing.

Graduates with combined degrees in Criminal Justice/Accounting Forensics and Fraud Detection have many other additional career paths available to them such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). The five year joint degree is designed to help students apply techniques in identifying, collecting, and examining evidence, including how to identify financial statement misrepresentation, transaction reconstruction, tax evasion and cyber-crime
