BUS 432 Three, Two, One - Launch!3 Credits
In the three prerequisite courses: Bus 132 Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Bus 232 The Art of Entrepreneurship, and Bus 332 The Science of Entrepreneurship, all facets of the entrepreneurial mindset were studied. In this final course for the minor in Entrepreneurship we practice the business launch! All the assignments completed in the three prerequisite courses have led to this final learning experience, which is a blend of personal coaching and independent experiential learning as the student uses this semester to launch their business venture. Success in this course is determined by the achievement of specific goals set at the beginning of the semester by the student. The instructor, acting as a business coach, will support the development of realistic but aspirational goals for each student & their respective business.
The da Vincian principles of sfumato (going up in smoke) which translates into a willingness to embrace the ambiguity of the unknown and connessione (connectedness - the ability to see connectedness in disparate elements) which translates into the ability to ‘connect the dots’ will be applied throughout this course as students will have to act and react, in real time, to the environment around them as they launch their businesses.
